One thing i do to assist all my clients is build a wedding timeline with them.

First look wedding timeline. Ceremony ends / cocktail hour begins During this time, the bride and groom enjoy seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day. The timeline is smoother, the photos turn out better, and honestly, you get to be more present on your wedding day.

While you may have a good idea of how you would like the day to flow, there are may variables that the photographer may required or need to ensure they get all the images within that working time frame. Will you have a first look? 4:30 pm | bride freshens up, gets tucked away from early arriving guests.

2:35 groom departs for first look. All wedding party members arrive at wedding venue. A first look is when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony.

You can then start to plot your wedding day agenda accordingly. This intimate moment typically makes for an emotional photo opportunity. That time fits in the wedding timeline one to two hours before guests start arriving.

As georgia wedding planners, we often encourage our wedding couples to opt for a first look instead of a traditional aisle reveal. A first look normally takes anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. 4:30 bride gets tucked away from early arriving guests.

How long do first look photos take? And a few portraits of course! If your ceremony starts at 3:30pm, 4:30pm, or 5pm, just adjust the times below by the appropriate amount of time.

Each wedding timeline can differ. Pictures will occur before the ceremony; 7am— begin hair and makeup.

Again, even though the couple will be seeing each other before the wedding, it is quick and easy, to start with the ceremony time. You may decide to do a first look before your ceremony, so you can get. To do a first look or too not?

This is based on how many groups you want to do. Wedding party and family photos with the couple. Below is a sample timeline (based on a 4pm ceremony) with a first look (assuming that you are getting ready, getting married, and having your reception at the same venue).

If you're opting for a classic wedding day timeline, the general running order of a winter wedding will go much like a summer one, but you do need to chat to your photographer about daylight hours, and make sure you get your photos in before it gets dark (which is as early as 4pm in december). If you didn't do a first look before your ceremony, odds are you may be taking photos during the cocktail hour. 2:40 bride departs for first look.

If there is no first look, then the couple will see each other for the first time during the ceremony. Usually, the first look and its location are decided far in advance before the wedding day. All hair and makeup complete.

Check out the sample wedding day timeline below as a guide (but again, don’t copy this verbatim for your wedding, just use it as a general guide to get a sense of how long certain events usually take): Rehearsal dinner, wedding and brunch. What this means in terms of when to take pictures:
